01、賽事背景
賽事由Columbia Undergraduate Law Review(CULR)舉辦。
CULR是哥倫比亞大學(xué)首屈一指的本科生法律出版物，發(fā)表來自世界各地本科生的長篇文章，旨在為哥倫比亞大學(xué)和公眾提供討論法律相關(guān)思想和發(fā)表本科生法律學(xué)術(shù)成果的機(jī)會(huì)。
本賽事面向全球在校高中生，鼓勵(lì)高中生參與其中，共同探討法學(xué)相關(guān)思想。
獲獎(jiǎng)?wù)撐膶⒃贑ULR網(wǎng)站上發(fā)布，獲獎(jiǎng)?wù)吆蛠嗆妼⑹苎麉⒓覥ULR主辦的Free Speech and Social Media演講活動(dòng)。

Freedom of Speech and Social Media:
The Battle Between Censorship?and Misinformation

Freedom of speech, a principle embedded in the First Amendment of the US Constitution, is regarded as a pinnacle of American freedom. The First Amendment allows one to speak against the government without consequence and to engage in discussion with those who hold differing opinions. In the current social media age, free speech frequently occurs on online platforms that are monitored by corporations such as Meta and X. An interesting case currently on the Supreme Court docket, Murthy v. Missouri, will analyze whether and how social media platforms can limit freedom of speech to reduce misinformation – an issue that would not have reached the docket 10 years ago.

全球在校高中生（不包括應(yīng)屆畢業(yè)生）
參賽時(shí)間線
提交截止日期：2024年6月21日11:59 P.M.
結(jié)果公布日期：2024年8月第一周起
*時(shí)間節(jié)點(diǎn)均為美東時(shí)間！
參賽要求
● 論文必須包含至少一個(gè)法庭案件或法律文件，包含但不限于命題中提到的案例與法條。
●?參賽者可以參考不在聯(lián)邦最高法院審理的案件，或者不同國家的法院案例。另外，國際法和不同國家的法規(guī)都可以用。
●?字?jǐn)?shù)不得超過1500字
4. 用芝加哥風(fēng)格引用，并在文末添加參考文獻(xiàn)引用頁

●?每個(gè)參賽者僅限提交一篇文章
