剁手黨 shopaholic

要說購物狂歡誰最瘋狂？當然就是“剁手黨”。

“剁手黨”的本質含義其實就是購物狂，中英文里都有這個說法。即shopaholic=購物狂。同樣的說法還有：

workaholic=工作狂

alcoholic=酒鬼

大家可能發現了，上述幾個都是加了后綴“-aholic”，表示“沉迷于……的人”、“對……上癮的人”。

那么問題來了：大家猜一猜foodaholic是什么意思？

當然了，“剁手黨”的英文還有其他的表達方法，例如：a big spender，你還知道哪些呢？

吃土 eat dirt

瘋狂“剁手”后，不少人都面臨一個窘境——“吃土”。

“吃土”這一說法，最初源于2015年雙十一購物狂歡節("Double 11" Carnival)，表示網購過度，后來延伸到口袋沒錢的含義。

其實國外也有這樣的說法，eat one's dust，但是它表示的是“落后于某人”的意思。

例如：

If we race, you'll eat my dust.

如果我們賽跑的話，你就等著輸吧。

那么英語是怎么表達我們說的“吃土”呢？

你可以說：

max out the credit card：刷爆信用卡

例如：

Tom has maxed out his credit card.

湯姆已經刷爆了他的信用卡。

也可以說

broke：身無分文的，破產的

例如：

I am broke because I spend too much.

我因為花太多錢破產了。

當然啦，表示“吃土”還可以說：

I'm as poor as a church mouse.

但是，由于中國的購物促銷太火爆，外媒也逐漸理解了“吃土”的含義，eat／live on dirt／soil。如：BBC就有如下的報道：

Alibaba said more than $1bn was spent within the first eight minutes, and more than 27 million purchases came via mobile phone in the first hour. This is good news for sellers but not that good for shoppers. Soon after the shopping spree began, "eating dirt" became a buzzword on the Internet. The term means that consumers spend too much on Singles Day shopping to have any money left for food; as a result, they can only "eat dirt", which is free.

阿里巴巴表示，雙11零點后的前八分鐘，網購消費超過10億美元，而在第一個小時內，移動端的購買訂單就超過2700萬個。賣家生意火爆，買家們可就悲慘了。雙11搶購開始沒多久，“吃土”就成為網絡熱詞。

這個新晉的網絡熱詞是指因消費超出預算，而導致生活拮據，沒有剩余的財力購買食物，只能吃免費的“土壤”。

Weibo user @Yanjinggong said:"I was complaining that Double 11 was only a trap for consumers, but now I am a girl?eating dirt."

網友@眼鏡宮在其微博表示，“前幾個小時還在吐槽雙十一是個消費陷阱，然而現在已然成為吃土少女。”

Another user, @zzyyyyyyyyun, said:"It's only two hours since the Double 11 started, but I know that I will be?eating dirt?for the rest of the year."
