威雅公學麥克白——重現莎士比亞

005年英國廣播公司（BBC）對莎士比亞經典話劇進行了大膽改編，將經典故事情節重現于當代的社會，組成了新的系列，將之命名為《莎士比亞重現》（ShakespeaRe-Told），一經播出就受到了廣泛的喜愛和追捧。其中，我個人最愛的一章是《麥克白》。故事發生在蘇格蘭的一家米其林三星餐廳中，主人公麥克白在這個故事中變成餐廳的副廚，勤懇工作的他深受主廚的信任，直到三位神秘的清潔工慫恿他篡位噬友，可怕的野心從此在麥克白腦海中悄悄生長……我本人也一直非常希望能完成這樣一個改編項目，威雅公學校園是一個理想的表演場地。在英語文學課程中，英制7、8、9、10年級的學生分別研究了莎士比亞的一部作品，其中英制9年級研究的就是《麥克白》。作為英制9年級的話劇老師，我決定抓住這次機會，通過在校園中重現話劇的方式來測試學生們對這部作品的理解。在《威雅公學麥克白》故事中，麥克白的姐姐受到三位愛嚼舌根的學生的挑唆，萌生了掌控校園的野心，并慫恿麥克白稱霸。不幸的是，他的罪行被無處不在的監控攝像頭記錄下來，最終他的計劃以失敗告終。

在《威雅公學麥克白》項目中，學生們不僅學習了影片拍攝的過程，也理解了在鏡頭前與在舞臺上表演之間的差別和挑戰，我們都非常享受整個制作過程，不禁一遍又一遍地欣賞我們這項杰出的勞動成果！

n 2005 the BBC produced a series of Shakespeare’s plays, adapted and relocated to the present day. My favourite was Macbeth, set in a three Michelin star restaurant in Scotland. Duncan is head Chef, and takes all the credit for his sous chef Macbeth’s hard work, until three mystic bin men plant the seed of ambition in Macbeth’s head…I’ve always wanted to make a similar project, and Wycombe Abbey International School was the ideal place to do it. Years 7, 8, 9 and 10 all study a different Shakespeare play in English Literature, year 9 reading Macbeth. I teach year 9 Drama, so I decided to test their knowledge and understanding of the play by asking them to retell the story relocated to our school. Macbeth’s sister, Lady, harbours aspirations for her brother to become Head boy, after three cackling pupils plant the seed of ambition in her mind. Unfortunately for Macbeth our school has security cameras so his plans are foiled…

Macbeth at WAIS provided an excellent opportunity for our pupils to understand the film making process, and how acting in front of the camera presents different challenges to acting on stage, we really enjoyed the process, and watching back the fruits of our labour!
