All international students whose first language is not English are required to submit either a TOEFL or an IELTS score. The official score reports should be sent directly to Wake Forest from the testing institutions.
Students whose first language is not English or who have attended an English-speaking school for fewer than two years are required to provide evidence of their English proficiency by submitting the results of the TOEFL or the IELTS.
Georgia Tech is a lively and collaborative atmosphere, and it is imperative that students have the ability to contribute to classroom discussions and engage in the Georgia Tech community outside of the classroom. We ask that non-native English speakers demonstrate English proficiency through the application process. While there is no particular requirement, many applicants choose to submit one of the following supplements to their application:

All non-US citizens and non-permanent resident students for whom English is not their first language must submit test scores to demonstrate their English proficiency. We will accept the TOEFL, IELTS or PTE. Our TOEFL code is C182.
TOEFL – strong applicants typically score 100 or higher
IELTS – strong applicants typically score 7.0 or higher
PTE – strong applicants typically score 68
We do not waive this score requirement based on grades in English courses or SAT/ACT scores. If you have lived in an English-speaking country or have attended an English-speaking school for more than four years, we may waive this requirement. To request this waiver, email us at unchelp@admissions.unc.edu with a description of your circumstances. Waivers are granted on a case-by-case basis.

Waiver requests will be reviewed after the submission of an application and transcript. If approved, your application status will automatically be updated. International applicants must submit English proficiency exam scores or request a waiver by their application deadline.
