上周四，前美國佛蒙特州州長Peter Shumlin訪問中芯學校，由周校董、校長及中、英文高中學生會代表共同接待。Peter Shumlin與同學們一起探討全球天氣變化所帶來的影響，關注新能源及保護環境的議題，希望學生成為世界公民, 承擔青年領袖的責任。演講結束后，十多位同學紛紛踴躍發言提問。在離校時，Peter Shumlin表示此次行程對中芯學校印象深刻，對學生的提問給予很高的評價，他稱贊學生們的獨立思考能力強，問題很有深度，希望今后能有機會再次與他們交流。

On Thursday, former US Governor Vermont Peter Shumlin visited SMIC, which was hosted by Chancellor Chou, Principal Ridings and MHS Student Council. Governor Shumlin and our students explored the impact of global weather changes, focused on new energy and environmental protection issues, and discussed ways for young people to become global citizens and assume their responsibilities as young leaders. After his presentation, Governor Shumlin hosted a question and answer session. The Governor was very impressed with our students and praised them for their ability to see the bigger picture when it comes to economics and the environment.

Peter Shumlin此次上海行程共拜訪了兩所學校，作為被拜訪的學校之一，能有機會與前任州長近距離對話，我們深感榮幸。學校今后會繼續邀請更多嘉賓到校演講，提供師生拓展全球視野的機會。

We were very honored to be one of the two schools Governor Shumlin visited in Shanghai. It was a wonderful experience for our students to have such close and meaningful interaction with him. The school will continue to invite guest speakers to provide sharing of valuable information and experience to help the students and teachers to expand their global horizons.
