On March 1st, 2018, students shared a unique lunch recess on this Friday in our new auditorium, where more than 20 teachers came to the stage and presented to students their projects and products. These projects range from various aspects, including Lego Building, 3D puzzle, Literacy Reading, Poem Appreciation, Classic Music and Color Painting, etc.

Those presentation were so exciting that students just could not wait to join these projects. This amazing lesson is actually the first presentation for the Friday Club on Pudong campus, a student-oriented lesson where they take maximal initiative in learning on every Friday. After students finishing listening to teachers’ propaganda, they would pick one of their favorite course according to their own interest. What attracts students’ enthusiasm so much for Friday Club is that in this lesson, only students are responsible for themselves, including deciding which project they what to explore, what kind of outcome they want to produce, etc.

During this process, we cultivated as well as maintained students ‘independent learning ability in this special course, which is beneficial in the long term for them. What an interesting experience for students to bloom.

2019年3月1日周五，上海中學國際部浦東校區的全體師生度過了一次難忘的午休時間。在這節課上，全體師生齊聚二樓大禮堂：二十多位老師們紛紛上臺，向學生們展示自己的“俱樂部”。樂高搭建、3D拼圖、英語閱讀、詩歌鑒賞、古典音樂、水彩繪畫等。同學們看得既興奮又好奇，紛紛迫不及待地想要加入老師的“陣營”大干一番。學生們在熱血沸騰地聽完老師們的介紹之后，將會結合自己的興趣，自主選擇自己將要參加一學期的這堂自主型課程。“周五俱樂部”的最大亮點就在于，在這一堂課上，學生完全自主運營，老師只負責引導，所有的成果將由學生自己去探索、創造。同學們的獨立自主和學習能力將得到極大的鍛煉和培養。
