A couple weeks ago our IB year one Film students participated in the first annual "Clash of the Titans" film challenge at the American School in Paris, where a few of the best high school film programs from around the world were hand selected to come together for a 48-hour film challenge.At the outset, each team was given a prop they needed to use, a random location in Paris, and a random film genre.They then had just two days to plan, shoot, and edit a short film.

Students also met Chris Renaud, the director and creator of "Despicable Me" and "The Secret Life of Pets" as well as their sequels.Renaud gave an incredibly meaningful and inspirational keynote about channeling their creativity into their work, and the messy, surprising path to success.

學(xué)生們還見(jiàn)到了《卑鄙的我》和《愛(ài)寵大機(jī)密》系列動(dòng)畫(huà)電影的導(dǎo)演兼創(chuàng)作者克里斯·雷納德。雷納德發(fā)表了極富意義與感召力的主旨演講，談到了如何將創(chuàng)意思維融入到作品中以及他跌跌撞撞、驚喜不斷的成功之路。

The students also had a chance to visit some of the cultural landmarks of Paris, including the Eiffel Tower, the Musee d'Orsay, the Pompidou Centre, and the iconic "Two Windmills" cafe from the film "Amelie", one of our touchstone films in our class.

學(xué)生們還有機(jī)會(huì)參觀(guān)了巴黎的一些文化地標(biāo)，其中包括埃菲爾鐵塔、奧賽博物館、蓬皮杜中心以及電影《天使愛(ài)美麗》中標(biāo)志性的“雙風(fēng)車(chē)”咖啡館，這部電影正是我們班的模范影片之一。

All three of our SAS teams came out with three exceptional shorts, and one team swept the awards. After "125" received the awards for "Best Sound" (Kaya Erguven ‘20), "Best Editing" (Will Lin ‘20), "Best Cinematography" (Vicky Jen ‘20), "Best Director" (Chloe Millet ‘20), it was no surprise that they took away "Best Film" as well.

上海美國(guó)學(xué)校的三個(gè)參賽團(tuán)隊(duì)拍攝完成了三部?jī)?yōu)秀的電影短片，其中一個(gè)團(tuán)隊(duì)包攬了全部獎(jiǎng)項(xiàng)。在《125》斬獲了最佳音效（上海美國(guó)學(xué)校十一年級(jí)學(xué)生Kaya Erguven）、最佳剪輯（上海美國(guó)學(xué)校十一年級(jí)學(xué)生Will Lin）、最佳攝影（上海美國(guó)學(xué)校十一年級(jí)學(xué)生Vicky Jen）和最佳導(dǎo)演（上海美國(guó)學(xué)校十一年級(jí)學(xué)生Chloe Millet）獎(jiǎng)后，他們最終毫無(wú)疑問(wèn)地?cái)孬@了最佳影片大獎(jiǎng)
