活動｜冬令營管窺（一）

上海民辦位育中學(xué)IBDP課程冬令營活動正在進(jìn)行中。

本次冬令營從300多申請者中，招募來58位來自天南地北的初三、初二學(xué)生，他們被分成兩個班級，分別由龔菲老師和外教Jeniffer擔(dān)任班主任。

1Jeniffer

2冬令營首日，同學(xué)們在位育體驗了英語、化學(xué)、天文、地理、戲劇等課程，并且聆聽了兩場有關(guān)“中美貿(mào)易戰(zhàn)”和“中國陶瓷”的專業(yè)講座。

Jessica from Class 2

I am very honored to be selected for this Weiyu Winter Camp. The reason that I sign up for this I am really interested in IB since I heard that IB is a program which educates people as a whole. It is not only limited to the cultivation of academic performance, but also focuses on students’ abilities, and their ambitions. I’m aiming to learn some useful knowledge and experience the IB program to see if I really like it. Today is the first day. I’ve had a well-lived day, and really enjoyed it.

不在乎（是否）學(xué)到新知識，而是作為IB冬令營的第一節(jié)課，讓我們先體驗了英文授課。所以在以后準(zhǔn)備上國際課程時，要準(zhǔn)備更多專用學(xué)科名，做到不用老師翻譯。However，這是令人興奮而且有趣的化學(xué)課。

Our next challenge was Chemistry class. We did three experiments in the lab. As I study in a public school, I rarely have chances to go to the lab for experiments. So that Chemistry class was full of interests and fun for me. From this experience, I gained the ability to work with other classmates.

聽說天文課的老師是普林斯頓大學(xué)畢業(yè)的，在場的人都贊不絕口、目瞪口呆。老師上課的風(fēng)格讓人感覺與其他中國老師不同，有自己的見解，積極與同學(xué)互動，同時與同學(xué)討論。原本對天文陌生的我也全身心地投入其中。

The first day of my life in IBDP was excellent. My teachers are all seasoned specialists. Our form master, Jennifer, is obviously a gregarious and extroverted person.

And actually I like astronomy the most. Our teacher is perhaps a great astronomer. She taught us about the lunar eclipse, solar eclipse, transit of Venus and so on. However, I was deeply surprised by the astronomy. Fore example, the Jupiter’s position at different time can even show us the speed of light, and the asteroid occultation can tell people the shape, size, trajectory of asteroid, which is very difficult to detect directly. What a kind of amazing course it is!

For the first day I have learnt a lot. The teaching method is very natural. It is not only for using English to teach the class but also it isn’t conventional and let us have the group work or make us to have group activities.

In addition, Ms. Zhu’s topic on traditional Chinese china technology development history is so interesting and it let us know that there was once 青瓷，白瓷 and then transferred into 青花，彩瓷 and so on. I am so excited to see them tomorrow in the Shanghai Museum. Hope that I will have a good night today.

The supervisor of our dormitory is really nice and kind. After she heard my lamp was broken, she took me a new one immediately. She also told me with some important precautions and notices with specific details, which makes me feel the special caring from her.

After our mentor gives us some guidance about the new school, I gradually form a basic structure about how the school educates their students with their own special teaching experience and also the IBer spirits.

An enriched always makes people feel tired rather than wasting times. Now I need to go to sleep in order to replenish my energy to welcome the second day! ^_^
