Shanghai American School had the chance to celebrate the collaboration with Community Center Shanghai’s Minhang branch. On this occasion, CCS is also honoring us in a special way, officially naming SAStheir “Founding Organization since 2013.” Honoring our history together, this recognition gives SAS a permanent presence in the stories CCS will tell of its history for all the years to come.

Marcel Gauthier, Head of School at SAS, says, “One of the inherent truths about international schools is that our opportunity to serve goes beyond education. Our families are often far from their support systems of family and friends, professional networks, and sense of community. We fulfill some these additional needs through parent/school partnership programs and groups such as our PTSAs. However, the Community Center Shanghai is able to perfectly complement what we can do as a school. For example, CCS can go deeper on language tutoring, hobby and craft explorations, and professional/personal development.”
